Hello! My name is Noble K.Thomas but I prefer to be called Toby. I am the founder and sole principal of Financial Goal Planning of Oklahoma (FGP-OK) and its offshoot service called Virtual Planner. I am no longer registered with the state of Oklahoma as an investment advisor and am instead interested in establishing relationships with other firms as a virtual planning aid or doing prescribed consulting projects.

I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in Finance. Upon graduating I worked in the banking industry in both Oklahoma City and Enid. In the late 1980s I decided to try something different and opened the first compact disc-only retail shop in the state, Silver Moon Compact Discs, located on North May Avenue in Oklahoma City. Silver Moon was later converted from a brick and mortar retail operation into a pioneering worldwide web-based music store specializing in independent and import titles. During that period I formed a private music label (Medicine Park Recordings) and released three independent CDs. To this day Silver Moon Music maintains an internet presence showcasing various projects and even offers its own Oklahoma Red Dirt Music Hall of Fame.

In 1993 I completed the College for Financial Planning's required courses and later passed the Certified Financial Planning comprehensive two-day examination in November of 2002. However, over the ensuing years I pursued other business interests and therefore did not acquire the prescribed working experience (which is three years) needed for certification. In July of 2010 I once again sat for and passed the CFP exam and in doing so may have become one of the few people on the planet who have passed the examination twice! As an aside, given the demanding nature of the exam, I do not recommend this particular career route for aspiring financial planners. 

A recent convert to the joy of solo athletic challenge, I participate in local charity runs (knees willing!) and have completed the Oklahoma City Half-Marathon. Other personal interests include hiking, high-pointing, reading great literature and writing not-so-great (but true to the heart) literature. And of course, enjoying great music.
